Please plan a minimum stay of 5 nights on Pico.

Even though the package contains three activity days, our excursions depend strongly on wind, waves, visibility and general sea conditions. Princess Alice Bank in particular is an offshore destination and can only be operated when conditions are suitable. A 5-night stay gives us the flexibility to move the excursions to the best possible days.

The sequence of the program may be changed according to weather and sea conditions. If one of the planned locations cannot be reached safely, we reserve the right to offer a suitable alternative snorkeling site or excursion.

As all wildlife encounters take place in the animals' natural environment, sightings of mobula rays or other marine wildlife can never be guaranteed.

Day 1 – Snorkeling Introduction & Guided Bay Tour

Start with a proper introduction to snorkeling in a picturesque bay around Pico. Our professional snorkeling and freediving instructors will help you with technique, equipment and safety before guiding you through your first underwater exploration. Transport from Madalena is included.

Day 2 – Ilhéus Snorkeling Excursion

Join our catamaran for a snorkeling trip to the Ilhéus da Madalena, the impressive volcanic rock formations just in front of Madalena. Explore the clear waters, volcanic structures and rich marine life of this protected area. Duration: approximately 3 hours.

Day 3 – Princess Alice Bank: Full-Day Mobula Snorkeling Expedition

The highlight of the package takes you offshore to the legendary Princess Alice Bank, one of the best-known pelagic wildlife locations in the Azores. Here we search for the famous mobula rays and, when conditions and wildlife activity allow, enter the water to snorkel with them in the open Atlantic.
